Each Scenario has it own unique setup and preparation. So for instance a comet-strike would be impossible to avoid. there are people however on the planet that have prepared DUMBS or Deep Underground Military Bases. Air is the most important followed by food and water. Food can somewhat be stored in quantities, but water causes a problem. Water has to be stored for internal consumption as well as washing for toilet and bathroom activities. Living next to a stream or lake can be a big boon. Another no brainer is a well. A well with a bucket and a rope for extraction is indispensable….

Oh!…. and don’t forget the seeds. Seeds are very, very important. you can plant them in your own backyard. Yes! one cannot deny that marauders and evil people will steal your veggies and fruits. But plant them nevertheless. Only buy Non-GM seeds and make explicitly sure they are Non-GM.
